Treatment
Allocation to intervention
Randomised controlled trial
Procedure for enrolling a subject and allocating the treatment (allocation concealment procedures)
Subject provide informed consent, are assessed at baseline, by a trained research clinician. Participants are then randomly assigned to control or treatment, by an independant person (statistician), through a central computer randomisation, using block simultaneous randomisation stratified by site, upon sufficient numbers at each site for group to be formed.
Methods used to generate the sequence in which subjects will be randomised (sequence generation)
Computer generated random number sequences, from www.randomization.com.
Masking / blinding
