Description of intervention(s) / exposure
The use of acupuncture and mobilisation by podiatrists and the perceptions thereof are being observed. Acupuncture and mobilisation are both complementary therapies becoming more popular with podiatrists. A wide range of foot and ankle conditions can be treated with mobilisation and acupuncture, from arthritic pain to optimising muscle power. Mobilisation is primarily done to improve range of motion of joints and acupuncture is done to lessen pain. We are assessing the perceptions and use of these therapies via an online survey accessed via an HTML link sent to podiatrists via email on the UWA contact list and advertisement on podiatry associations of all Australian states. Duration of observation: retrospective study based on experience of practicing podiatrists.
