Description of intervention(s) / exposure
The project uses survey results from before and after manager and employee workshops and workbook activities on resilience from burnout. The workshop materials are based on the Systematic Self-reflection Resilience training (SRT) model focussing on the Self-Reflection and Coping Insight Framework to develop self-awareness, self-knowledge and how to cope well now and in future, The two-hour interactive workshops will be delivered by the research team to managers and staff in groups of up to 15 employees in 12 residential aged care villages in NSW and ACT, while staff will complete up to five 15 minute workbook activities over five weeks after their workshop attendance. Workbook activities are short written self-reflection on stressors and recovery strategies. The workshops and materials will be adapted specifically to the residential aged care workforce. The effects of the intervention will be measured three months after the five week activities, so the overall duration of the intervention is 17 weeks.
